Black Sea😍Black Sea· Odesa Oblast21.09.2026, 17:28Black Sea rockfishing gives you a unique chance to live two completely different fishing stories in a single day. If you want to feel the maximum contrast of emotions, a combo of hunting garfish and horse mackerel is exactly what you should try, and it's something I just have to tell you about in my blog. During the day, the star of the show is the sleek garfish — a true silver arrow of our sea. It's maximally dynamic, visual, and fast fishing that demands long casts with heavy shiny pilkers or using a bombarda. When this predator with its characteristic long beak attacks the bait in the water column, and after the hookset starts doing acrobatic flips and dances on the surface, the adrenaline just goes off the charts. You see every detail of the fight under the blinding sea sun, and this visual contact makes the whole thing incredibly spectacular. But as soon as the sun dips below the horizon and thick darkness wraps around the coast, it's time for a completely different kind of magic — the horse mackerel bite. Heavy tackle gets swapped for delicate ultralight, and instead of sight, pure tactile feel takes the lead. Fishing horse mackerel on light pelagic jigs with glow-in-the-dark silicone turns into a kind of night meditation. All that's left is silence, the rhythmic sound of the surf, and that sharp, hungry strike of the predator "in hand," transmitted like an electric pulse through the rod blank. It's an exciting game where you need to pick the right tungsten weight, get the retrieve depth right, and savor each time you weigh the silver beauty in the beam of your headlamp. The combination of daytime explosive drive and nighttime focus makes sea fishing incredibly multifaceted. Probably the first time in a while when I didn't even want to take work photos because it would eat into precious fishing time. And of course, you can't ignore the taste of horse mackerel.ScadSpinning fishing129Ingul😍Ingul· Mykolaiv Oblast20.09.2026, 20:16Been a while since I've shared a report, honestly forgot how to do this. Fishing within city limits is always an interesting challenge, but sometimes you manage to find real fishing gems in these spots. Today I want to share the vibes from my latest trip to the Ingul River. The weather this time was just perfect for some meditative spinning: steady, almost completely windless, and the water was like a mirror. The silence of the city Ingul, broken only occasionally by distant street noise, creates that unique atmosphere that makes you want to grab your gear. I was fishing from an old wooden pier, which added a special, cozy aesthetic and charm to the whole session. As for the bite itself, the river pleasantly surprised me with predator activity. Overall managed to convince 4 pike-perch and 5 perch. The fish were mostly small, but super active. That said, this urban stretch can produce some truly solid exceptions — today, for example, some nice pike-perch specimens around 500 grams showed up. They responded eagerly and confidently to the lures, and bright lime-colored silicone worked especially well. The striped perch weren't slacking either, showing their fighting spirit and giving some awesome moments with every catch. This trip once again proved that even without going far from the city, you can catch your zen and have a great fishing session. Friends, drop in the comments what fish you most often manage to catch on urban waters? I'd be happy to see you all as subscribers so we can explore new places together. There's still plenty of interesting reviews, locations, and fishing stories ahead!ZanderSpinning fishing120Ingul😄Ingul· Mykolaiv Oblast23.05.2026, 14:20This is more of an archive report, need to get back there with fresh photos and some better gear. Pretty straightforward when they're biting - they'll hit anything. No point in fussing with the fish. Pretty much all the micro stuff works great. When the pike get passive, that's when you start saying your prayers and doing smooth presentations - you can coax them if you understand the basic passive techniques. The Chiter and Cossack lures from M5 are still probably the top favorites. You can catch a decent amount out there, so welcome.ZanderSpinning fishing142Ingul😏Ingul· Mykolaiv Oblast02.12.2025, 12:11Time to tell the truth about pike perch this season. Sure, you can blame the weather and other reasons for why it stopped biting actively, but the fact remains — the fish has already gone into winter dormancy. It bites in short bursts and stays pretty passive overall. You can still catch them, but it's getting a lot harder, and forget about big catches — even in the best windows. But as always, you can figure out the right approach. This time an M5 cheat saved me — though fishing cost me two packs of lures: the pike perch was only grabbing the tail or just chasing the bait away from the spot. And it all ended with a broken rod that couldn't handle the power casts this time around. And a big plea to fellow anglers: don't take small fish. I'm seeing it more and more — both older guys and kids bagging pike perch you can practically see through. If you want to take fish — take them within legal limits and size, not ten-centimeter pike perch. Let's protect our waters together. ZanderSpinning fishing160
