The name of the water
Ingul
Description
Been a while since I've shared a report, honestly forgot how to do this. Fishing within city limits is always an interesting challenge, but sometimes you manage to find real fishing gems in these spots. Today I want to share the vibes from my latest trip to the Ingul River.
The weather this time was just perfect for some meditative spinning: steady, almost completely windless, and the water was like a mirror. The silence of the city Ingul, broken only occasionally by distant street noise, creates that unique atmosphere that makes you want to grab your gear. I was fishing from an old wooden pier, which added a special, cozy aesthetic and charm to the whole session.
As for the bite itself, the river pleasantly surprised me with predator activity. Overall managed to convince 4 pike-perch and 5 perch. The fish were mostly small, but super active. That said, this urban stretch can produce some truly solid exceptions — today, for example, some nice pike-perch specimens around 500 grams showed up. They responded eagerly and confidently to the lures, and bright lime-colored silicone worked especially well. The striped perch weren't slacking either, showing their fighting spirit and giving some awesome moments with every catch.
This trip once again proved that even without going far from the city, you can catch your zen and have a great fishing session. Friends, drop in the comments what fish you most often manage to catch on urban waters? I'd be happy to see you all as subscribers so we can explore new places together. There's still plenty of interesting reviews, locations, and fishing stories ahead!
