😏Pond #2· Volyn Oblast05.09.2026, 21:50Fishing turned out to be pretty extreme. Had to pack up after dark since the days keep getting shorter and there's less and less time for fishing. Wind gusts up to 16 meters per second, rain… all we were missing was snow😅. And during the delivery of hemp to the spot by boat rig, that's exactly when the fish were biting and a fish hit the rig and flipped it over😳 first time I've seen that. Overall the fish were passive, barely managed to convince one 6+ kilo carp and one 4+ kilo carp to take the hook. Crucian carp was feeding actively all night long, can't say much about carp though — because of my mistake with the soured groundbait, I only got two bites and landed one carp at 5200. Funny thing is, on tiger nuts nothing under 4kg will bite, gotta find a different approach for more active fishing. But hoisting such a piglet on a Flagman Cast Master 3.6m feeder rod paired with a 5500 SL reel from the same series is quite the adventure 😉. So for carp groundbait, everything standard: boiled hemp, crushed tiger nuts and whole grains. Main rule — cook it all yourself (that's been proven more than once). Same nuts on the hair rig, but 1-2 per hair + cork to lighten it. For crucian carp: crushed peas in the mix with loose maize/hemp. Cheap and effective. On the hair rig, 1-2 peas. Hooks #8 mostly wide gape from Carp Pro, prefer the curve shank ones for carp, and same from Bounty #10 if using a single small nut or pea. About tiger nuts here in Volyn — gotta say they don't work everywhere, so this is more of an exception than the rule 😉 Good luck out there, fishermen. Been here many times, but lately it's just a disaster. Three times they tried to shake me down for cash, claiming I've been fishing for ages when I just got here. They don't give you receipts. The bite before and on weekends is basically non-existent (don't know what they do with the fish there, but it happens all the time). Fishing costs 1000 hrn per day, boat service is 350 hrn per session (12 hrs). There's constantly some local nutjob who brings his own rigs by boat right in front of you across to the other shore 150 meters away, just because he feels like it and apparently he's allowed to. Constant drunks and parties. Military discounts of 100 hrn they give out whenever they feel like it, nothing's consistent. So here's the result of my 15-hour fishing session - 3 miserable crucians. Really don't recommend this place. Зранку потішив амурчик 1.1 кг. Карасик стабільно клював в сусідів по сектору, але я приїхав не по нього). Відпочинком задоволений, все чисто та цивілізовано, якщо не враховувати пʼяні суперечки і гулянки з музикою деяких непорядних відвідувачів.Bottom fishing110
