Night fishing again 🥱 Cold night, but plenty of fish action. Crucian carp was feeding actively all night long, can't say much about carp though — because of my mistake with the soured groundbait, I only got two bites and landed one carp at 5200. Funny thing is, on tiger nuts nothing under 4kg will bite, gotta find a different approach for more active fishing. But hoisting such a piglet on a Flagman Cast Master 3.6m feeder rod paired with a 5500 SL reel from the same series is quite the adventure 😉. So for carp groundbait, everything standard: boiled hemp, crushed tiger nuts and whole grains. Main rule — cook it all yourself (that's been proven more than once). Same nuts on the hair rig, but 1-2 per hair + cork to lighten it. For crucian carp: crushed peas in the mix with loose maize/hemp. Cheap and effective. On the hair rig, 1-2 peas. Hooks #8 mostly wide gape from Carp Pro, prefer the curve shank ones for carp, and same from Bounty #10 if using a single small nut or pea. About tiger nuts here in Volyn — gotta say they don't work everywhere, so this is more of an exception than the rule 😉 Good luck out there, fishermen.
