Петринківський ставок (Немишлянський кар'єр)

No catch today, got one bite from a perch in a spot with tons of snags. Thought it was just another snag at first, took me like 5 seconds to realize it was actually a fish, but didn't get the hook set in time and it got away. No worries though, nature treated me to some gorgeous views and a few bites. Met this guy out there who makes his own silicone baits. Check out the second photo - those are the lures he gave me from the box. Got a bite on one of them actually, a gold worm. The guy himself caught a 15 cm pike on the same worm. So the baits work, he's got some interesting shapes, looks like popular silicone patterns, plus one shape I've never seen anywhere. Unfortunately the guy doesn't have a website or a shop, so you can't buy them, but he gives them away for free if you happen to run into him at the quarry. Some other folks fishing where I got my bite caught a zander and a couple perches. I also gave an old timer a tail spinner and a crankbait, and passed some fluorocarbon to a young guy who was just starting out and using steel leaders. Overall solid session, got my kicks. Only bummer was all the trash - I picked up what I could in a bag, but there's still a lot left. If you get a chance, maybe clean up a bit or at least don't litter. What really gets me is most of the garbage is lure and hook packaging, which is rough cause us anglers are out here enjoying the gifts nature gives us - the bites, the fish - and then we trash it, not respecting it.
