Great fishing in not-so-great weather.. Despite the rain and constant downpour, and sand getting everywhere – literally everywhere – it didn't stop us from catching a crazy variety of fish. Even managed to land two red-listed species: a dace and a striped ruffe. Both were released right after photos. All told, I had 4kg in the net (half of which swam off to do their thing) plus another roughly 1.5-2kg released on the spot, which I reckon is a pretty solid result for bream this season. Used long rigs from 100cm up to 150cm – anything shorter and the smaller fish either refused or I'd get nothing but tiny specimens. Mix feed – Flagman Pro universal snickers + Flagman Grand Black Roach for bream with added color, plus Flagman Pro big fish (large fraction) + threw in about a third of Method paste + boiled millet, and for kicks I boiled some peas and used them to stuff half of each method ball (peas were cooked but kept firm) for extra large particles. The bait worked perfectly – caught a couple of solid 350-400g whitefish, nearly a kilo bream, plenty of bream hybrids and sub-bream in the 400-500g range.
