Actually, I'd been prepping since yesterday for some peaceful fishing — boiled some millet, cooked up corn, grabbed some Fanatik groundbait (not sure why, but I've been really digging it lately) and of course threw in my secret ingredient with the millet. But it rained all night, so I had to change plans. Peaceful fishing gets postponed for another time, and today it's all about her, the beauty, the queen of our rivers — pike! 🐊 By the way, before I forget. I'm already back home now, and it feels great to see my hometown again. For now I'm fishing the Dnieper and Psel in the Kremenchuk district, but I'm putting my plans for the lakes in Oleksandrivsk district on hold for now — not sure when I'll get back there. But there are new adventures ahead! Real soon I'm gonna start exploring the Uzh river, so stay tuned for new reports not just from the waterbodies in Oleksandrivsk district. Now a quick word on gear. This time I was fishing with a Flagman Tactic 7'0" rod paired with a Flagman Tactic 2000 reel and Select Basic PE 100m 0.16mm line. I used a tail-spinner as my lure and fished it almost the entire time right along the bottom. And the weather today was just perfect for pike. Pressure dropping, sky all clouded over — that's when pike really start feeding hard. And the bites proved it! 💥 Unfortunately no trophy showed up today, but I definitely didn't go home empty-handed. Managed to catch three nice pike, each around 500-700 grams. Not giants, I'll admit, but the fight was really fun and I got more than enough thrills. Fishing proved once again that it's not about the size of the fish — it's about spending time in nature, recharging your batteries and getting satisfaction from every bite. Released all the fish back into their home — let them grow up. Hope we meet again, but next time hopefully they'll be real trophies. 🐊💚 Thanks to everyone who read all the way through! The bite wasn't constant, but we found our fish. Caught some nice crucians, roach and rudd. Also had 3 small bream, but we let them go to grow. Great weather, good company and the pure joy of fishing — that's exactly why we go out. Caught some nice roach, smaller bream, and one decent bream. The fish were biting actively, so the time flew by. Overall it was a great session: fresh air, good vibes, and a few solid fish in the bag. The bottom is mostly sandy with no drop-offs or rocks to speak of. Tried different spots and got almost nothing. Got just one small crucian carp on float, and the roach were barely biting either. If you just want to come hang out with your kid and fish with a float, the spot's fine for that. But don't count on landing any trophy fish here. Managed to catch some decent roach in a couple hours, and lost two more fish. Wasn't fishing for the catch, just for the love of it. Погода трішки підманула — спочатку світило сонечко, а потім різко пішов дощ із дуже сильним вітром 🌧️💨 Піймав сьогодні двох окунів. Клювання було дуже хороше одразу після того, як закінчився дощ. Не можу ще багато розказати про цю риболовлю, бо на спінінг тільки починаю ловити 😅 Ловив на тейл 10 грам, більш природного кольору, але нажаль його зірвав — був зачеп за корч 😢 Хотів би почути від вас поради по спінінгу: який силікон краще брати на окуня та щуку? які ваги чебурашок найкраще працюють? можливо, порадите якісь проводки для початківця?
