Hey everyone, friends! 🎣 Today I spontaneously decided to go hunt some pike. Actually, I'd been prepping since yesterday for some peaceful fishing — boiled some millet, cooked up corn, grabbed some Fanatik groundbait (not sure why, but I've been really digging it lately) and of course threw in my secret ingredient with the millet. But it rained all night, so I had to change plans. Peaceful fishing gets postponed for another time, and today it's all about her, the beauty, the queen of our rivers — pike! 🐊 By the way, before I forget. I'm already back home now, and it feels great to see my hometown again. For now I'm fishing the Dnieper and Psel in the Kremenchuk district, but I'm putting my plans for the lakes in Oleksandrivsk district on hold for now — not sure when I'll get back there. But there are new adventures ahead! Real soon I'm gonna start exploring the Uzh river, so stay tuned for new reports not just from the waterbodies in Oleksandrivsk district. Now a quick word on gear. This time I was fishing with a Flagman Tactic 7'0" rod paired with a Flagman Tactic 2000 reel and Select Basic PE 100m 0.16mm line. I used a tail-spinner as my lure and fished it almost the entire time right along the bottom. And the weather today was just perfect for pike. Pressure dropping, sky all clouded over — that's when pike really start feeding hard. And the bites proved it! 💥 Unfortunately no trophy showed up today, but I definitely didn't go home empty-handed. Managed to catch three nice pike, each around 500-700 grams. Not giants, I'll admit, but the fight was really fun and I got more than enough thrills. Fishing proved once again that it's not about the size of the fish — it's about spending time in nature, recharging your batteries and getting satisfaction from every bite. Released all the fish back into their home — let them grow up. Hope we meet again, but next time hopefully they'll be real trophies. 🐊💚 Thanks to everyone who read all the way through!
