Став “у Михайла” розташований у Гамаліївці, майже поруч із великим Гамаліївським водосховищем: відділяє їх усього кілька десятків метрів, якщо рухатися в напрямку київської траси. Це невелика, окрема водойма з власним характером, яка добре відома місцевим рибалкам. Ставок неглибокий, але біля дамби є одна чітко виражена яма глибиною близько двох-трьох метрів. Саме ця ділянка вважається найперспективнішою, тому більшість рибалок зупиняється саме там.
Ловити тут складно, адже практично вся поверхня густо заростає водоростями, а дно сильно замулене. Через це снасті часто заплутуються, а, щоб доставити кормушку в більш чисту точку, іноді доводиться завозити її човном. Проте вода багата на рибу, і ставок має репутацію місця, де трапляються справжні трофеї: тут живуть щука, карп, лин, великий карась, плотва, краснопірка та лящ.
Кльов буває дуже непередбачуваним. Наприклад, рибалки, які провели тут цілий день — з п’ятої ранку до сьомої вечора — змогли впіймати лише дрібного лина, хоча пробували різні наживки: черв’яка, опариша, манку й кукурудзу. Такі умови роблять водойму радше викликом, ніж легким відпочинком. Водночас саме завдяки своїй дикості й складності ставок зберіг трофейні екземпляри, які й приваблюють найдосвідченіших рибалок.
