Hey everyone! Went fishing three days ago. Decided to try my luck for chub. Started by casting spinners everywhere but got nothing. Put on a rotor and caught 2 small dace back-to-back, then nothing. After another 2-3 hours of casting with zero bites, I decided to try for pike-perch instead. Since the fish were sluggish I went with a drop shot rig, got 2 pike-perch bites with scratches on the lure. Then after a long time switching baits I finally got a bite. It was such a hard strike I was sure it was a pike-perch, but when I reeled it in I was shocked — it was a goby! Definitely the biggest goby I've ever caught, around 30cm, and if you compare it to my foot in the photos you can see it's not small, I wear size 48 shoes. This beast absolutely hammered a 2.8 inch rubber lure, was tough getting the bait out of its mouth because those teeth are just insane. After that it went quiet, so that pretty much ended the session. Spent the whole day listening and watching the drones overhead, seeing them trying to shoot them down — at least that kept things interesting. Ended up not catching any chub or pike-perch. All the fish I got made it home though!
