Hey everyone! I was after crucian carp yesterday. Came out in the morning first, sat with a float from 7 to 10, didn't catch a thing. Decided to give it another shot in the evening. Fed the spot while the fish were still spitting out the food, switched to a spinning rod. The perch weren't talking, got a couple of bites and one ruffe, nothing special. Other anglers had the same deal. So I went back to my fed spot but this time with a lateral jig instead of a rod. And that lateral jig was doing the trick – managed to pull out 5 nice crucian carps, an amur, and even a turtle, lucky it didn't swallow the hook too deep. Had a couple of good escapes too. The interesting thing was I started fishing for crucian at 19:30, but the bites didn't come until 30 minutes later, and the most active bite was around 21:00. So either the lateral jig is the way to go, or the crucian just starts feeding at that time. Released the amur and turtle back home.
