Matyushi Dam

Found it on Google Maps, decided to check it out. Interesting spot with a notice board about the rules, apparently this is a reservoir used for fish breeding according to another sign nearby. Didn't read all the details since I was mainly after perch, just asked the guys hanging around if there was a fee for fishing. They said no, so I got to it. Nice area - rocky shore and the dam itself. Lots of perch in the rocks, I only caught medium and small ones, but I reckon there are some bigger ones too. They also mentioned there's pike and zander. Didn't even bother photographing the perch since nothing special came up, but at the end of the session I decided to try with a jig and was pretty surprised with what I caught - a channel catfish. First time catching those. That's basically why I decided to share this report. Wanted to tell others about the place and this unusual catch for me.
