🦫 First time on this water today, gotta say it's a pretty interesting spot: tons of snags and debris (thanks beavers), but that's exactly why the predators are here. The downside is it's a long hike in. 🎣 Fished roughly 7:30 to 1 PM, fishing at my own risk in these conditions. Brought size 2 spinners, small spoons, and cicada lures - left quite a bit of metal in the water and even got blisters from constantly casting out of snags 🫡 🤙 Didn't manage to land anything, but at least I got one on the hook, which is progress compared to my previous spinning outings. 🐟 Got 3 takes total: probably a small perch (didn't see it), a tiny pike, and a really nice perch. 😮‍💨 That last one hit so aggressively I thought I'd snagged another log, and I don't even consider my rod very sensitive. Right at the bank unfortunately it gave a headshake and got off. About 2 palms long from what I could tell, definitely a solid fish with an angry face - first time seeing a perch like that in person. Put up serious resistance. Could've been a real trophy, but no luck… 😔 My legs weren't the only ones shaking after that - my grandpa's were too, and he was fishing with a float right next to me 😅 👍 Nice spot overall, definitely heading back there again, but with way more wire in my bag this time 😂
