Description
Got out for a couple hours today while I had some free time, wanted to throw the spinning rod around and close out the 2024 open water winter season.
Had plans to target perch on micro jigs. The stripers were biting really well on dark-colored soft plastics, 2" on 2-gram heads.
But then a pretty strong wind picked up, so I switched to heavier weights and bigger soft plastics. Ended up landing a nice pike that weighed 1.7 kg.
Fished for another half hour or so after that but didn't see any more bites.
Turned out to be a great pre-New Year fishing session.
