But my buddy landed a nice specimen and broke his personal record. I got a bit sidetracked with some groundbait, the roach were biting one after another the whole time we were out on the water. The crucians were biting on bread balls, and I got to throw the spinning rod a bit. A nice perch showed up and made my day, plus a small pike and another fish that got away. So this fishing trip was pretty spontaneous - knocked off work and threw our stuff together in a hurry, set up in the dark and waited all night for bites. Started dozing off at dawn... Woke up around seven and realized we were missing four of our tip-ups. Found one pretty quick and pulled a nice carp off it (see the pic). The second one was way across the water, maybe 400 meters over, and had a decent carp on it - probably 2-3 kilos - but it got away. Couldn't track down the other two tip-ups ( So yeah, we kind of botched what could've been a solid morning of carping...CarpExotic fishing methods399
