Dnieper
Description
"Autumn Cicadas"
Mid-autumn's here and I figured big baits should be working — crankbaits, soft plastics, vibes, and rattlebaits — but nature's got other plans and keeps reminding us that fishing is always unpredictable, something you've got to be ready for. What worked yesterday, or even last season at this time of year, doesn't guarantee it'll work today. That's exactly what happened.
I hadn't been able to get out fishing for almost three weeks because of a packed work schedule and a business trip. Finally made it back and the first thing I did was head to the water.
My plan was to work some 130+ crankbaits, but with the autumn days getting shorter, I decided not to grind it out with the baits for too long and switched to rattlebaits instead. The rattlebaits weren't giving up anything, so I decided to throw a cicada. I had good success with cicadas on this water three weeks back, so figured I'd give it another shot.
I was right on — an O.S.P. Over ride 3/8oz cicada brought me a small perch almost on the first cast, and then... well, you'll see what happened next when you check out the video on my YouTube channel DShFishing, premiere on 16.10.2024 at 07:00
It was an incredible, atmospheric day on the water, painted in those brilliant evening colors — the kind of fishing that'll definitely find a special place in my angler's portfolio.

Respectfully,
Dmitro Shcharaburin.
