Covered a lot of ground. Checked out all the lakes on Trukhanov Island, not a single bite. Hit up 4 Oboloni lakes in a loop, same dead zone. Walked about 15 km total, from Poshtova to Trukhanov, then Trukhanov to Oboloni. Blaming the weather changes – that sudden warm front today really threw things off. At the start I managed to convince 3 perch in literally 10 minutes, but then came some long searching. After 3 hours of hunting I finally pulled out this beauty with some solid dark stripes. Real nice specimen. The Hitomi in Lime / Lime Chartreuse really let me down. The water was pretty murky, so I went with bright colors. Fished so long in the sun I got absolutely fried, but hey, I'm stoked! Lots of small perch around, but they were pretty sluggish. While I was working the perch, a pike suddenly darted right past me like a rocket—four times bigger than the one in the photo. Scorching hot day out there.
