😏Archived Pond· Volyn Oblast23.08.2026, 22:06Thought I'd snagged a crucian or a small carp, so it bolted into the weeds, but it turned out to be a proper perch, a real trophy for that little pond 😂 - - Stood with it for like 10 minutes couldn't get it out for anything, then I saw one of the guys had a net and asked for help. He actually went in the water in white socks! 😁 - - The kids (13 of them) were trying to guess the weight, saying 400, 500, 800! The bite was pretty decent that day, there wasn't much open water, and the fish probably came out from under the ice to catch some air. Got more than 4 bites in less than 10 minutes. Managed to land one, but it swallowed the hook so deep I couldn't reach it by hand, and all I had on me was a cosmetic tweezers. So I decided not to torture the fish, freed that pike, and headed straight out to grab the right tools. Been wanting to catch a proper predator for a while now. - - After a rough night of shelling, protected by the Armed Forces of Ukraine, huge respect and thanks to them, I couldn't fall asleep no matter what. So to ease my mind, I was thinking about how I'd fish for pike on today's outing. - - And for good reason! Finally managed to land one! Sure, it's not a big one, but the first fish always brings joy. - - Caught it on a 4-inch Swing Fat, which to be honest I was a bit hesitant to throw before with my White Bird 1.5-7. - - Got a bonus perch on a Fusion 3 too, picked up the lure on the third cast! - - Not huge numbers, but for me it's valuable experience and great memories! Released the fish. - - Want to thank our fighters personally one more time.
