Institutske Lake

Noticed nobody's posted from this lake in forever, so decided to head out in the evening and check it out. First spotted just some crucians hugging the shore, looked like half a kilo each, but they weren't biting. Fished for about half an hour without a single hit, but finally managed to land a few perch on the little bridge—decent size for this lake. They were hitting in a weird way though, sometimes on the fall when I cast, sometimes off the bottom with a long pause. Got some good fish in hand, then headed toward the apartment complex and rocks, caught a few more the same way—some on the fall, some off the bottom. Then I spotted a pike, maybe a kilo or so, standing under the bank, which is unusual for this time of year. Cast near it but it swam off into the deep. Tried a wobbler after that and saw a 100-gram perch checking it out but it didn't bite. Finally caught a small perch on an ant fly near the bushes and headed home. Man, the fishing's been sad at this lake over the past year. Not sure if they've fished it out or what—let me know in the comments how you're doing with it. Good luck with no luck!
