Description
Headed out to fish the rapids of the Southern Bug, and within the first hour of wading I got several solid strikes - pretty sure it was chub. Later I actually landed a decent chub around 350 grams, but then came a strike so hard it nearly ripped the rod out of my hands. Intense fight and a 1.6kg chub in my hands 😍 Then there was this weird bite and struggle where I couldn't figure out what kind of fish it even was at first? Instead of sharp jerks, long steady pulls and the fish pressing down to the bottom. When I finally got it closer I saw it was a pitch-black catfish that bent open the treble hook on my lure and swam off 🫢
