Озеро Бердихів

Headed out to Lelekhivka, but the sun was blazing and the place was packed like a fair 😅 So we didn't waste time — turned around and headed to Lake Berdykhiv nearby instead. First time for me there, so kinda flying blind, but curious to see what's up. Fishing turned out to be one of those tricky days: pike seem to be spawning — they're all thrashing around in the grass by the shore, no point trying to catch 'em. On the shallows where the water's warmer, I picked up a few small perch, some roach, and even spooked a little pike right under my feet 😄 Move further along — and here's where it gets crazy. Run into some carp… Hooked about 5 of 'em in just a few casts 😬 And the way it feels — you work the bait and it literally "walks on their backs." Played around a bit and called it quits: snagging coarse fish by the tail isn't my thing. Luckily, a nice guy pointed me toward where to find perch — messed around for another hour, but the ones I got were straight-up "kindergarten" sized 🙃 But for a new water body — did some good reconnaissance. Once the pike finish spawning there'll be reason to come back 😉
