🦺🦺🦺Days #5 and #6. The sea's going crazy out there, waves 1-2 meters! It's a shame because I was finally getting the hang of fishing this spot, but honestly there's no fishing to be done right now. The rough seas won't let me get to my honey holes, so I had to camp about 5 meters from the reef drop-off. Getting the rig down to the bottom was tough enough with the brutal side wind and massive waves, but actually working it? That's a whole different beast. With the wrong angle, the line kept rubbing against sharp coral, and every time a fish bit, the line would get sliced clean through like scissors just from the weight of the bite. And don't even get me started on the spray soaking me from head to toe))) But somehow over two sessions I managed to squeeze out 2 fish—cost me half my line though, which the "sea god" gladly accepted. All things considered, given that my gear was totally wrong for these conditions, I'd call this fishing trip a win—learned something new, caught some fish, and got some solid experience and memories! Can't wait for the next go……
