Old bend of the Dniester River

First fishing trip of the summer. 😉 Staying home was getting boring, and the weather finally turned out how it should be—sunny with a light breeze. Headed out first to the Bystrytsya River, and when I got there I noticed the water clarity left something to be desired, same with the water level. But I didn't get discouraged and cast a few times—got nothing, just like the last 4 trips before this🥲. Can't figure out where all the fish went. After spending about an hour casting around, I noticed black clouds rolling in with thunder and lightning. The forecast said the rain wouldn't last long, so without thinking twice I decided to head somewhere closer to town where I could take cover if needed. Waited out about 10 minutes of light rain, and once I saw the sun starting to break through the clouds again, I decided to head to a lake where I'd had some solid success in the fall. Got there and the fish weren't showing themselves—didn't even see any small ones—but I started trying anyway. Working a soft plastic near some weeds, I got my first bite, but the fish just grabbed the lure and let go. Next cast in the same spot, and I've got a little pike on the hook, and right after it a nice perch—the biggest I've caught all year (350g)—after which the bites died off until evening. Soon as the mosquitoes came to the surface, the little fish started gathering, and the perch came out of the grass behind them. Decided to fish the water column, and it paid off—first retrieve and a perch bites, and then the feeding frenzy starts—I'm getting bites on every cast, but it didn't last long😥. Only lasted about 20 minutes before sunset. All in all managed to catch 22 perch and one pike. Thanks to the Armed Forces of Ukraine for the opportunity to fish. Glory to Ukraine!!!🔥🎣❤️🇺🇦
