Matviyivska Bay
Description
Spent a couple hours on the shore of Matviyivska Bay today. Was planning to catch some perch (there's always plenty here), but things didn't go as planned this time. The perch weren't biting on FishUP Tanta 2" at all. Only after downsizing to 1.5" was I able to tempt a couple of those little guys. As a nice bonus, a chub struck my SV Fishing Individ spoon in silver.
As for the second outing — that was last night on the new embankment. Fished from 21:00 to 23:30, but never got the night pike-perch I was hoping for. Used these lures:
• Zip Baits Rigge 56SP
• Pontoon 21 CrackJack 58SP-SR
• Pontoon 21 CrackJack 58SP-MR
• Jackall Squad Minnow 65SP
• Jackall Tiny Fry 50SP
• Megabass X-80 Jr.
Interestingly, there was plenty of fry under the bank, but I never heard those characteristic "clicks" of pike-perch activity. Looking forward to the next night session — maybe that'll be the one.
