Description
Got a couple hours free for some fishing today. Started throwing easy shiners in purple-blue perch colors — nothing. Someone bit the tail off. Decided to rig up a drop shot, assembled it on snaps but the rattle went away, a micro pencil showed up — figured fish like that aren't worth chasing. Put on a crazy flapper and off we go, the fish were semi-active — no solid hits, just vague contacts on the pauses. The pike perch were super cautious about the bait, but with that big hook setup they didn't stand a chance 😉 nothing trophy-worthy or interesting.

Still fun and entertaining though because the season's just starting.
Thought about grabbing an ultra-light 0.5-5 but the wind...
