So here's today's first outing on my new Favorite Rapid 692ml (3-14g) spin rod: Fished from 12:30 to 15:50, got 4 bites total over that time. First bite happened right by the shore in some snags - a pike around 500g hit, but not too aggressively, so it was holding right at the edge. When I worked it toward shore it threw the hook. Then I backed up about 5 meters to the left and landed another one on the second cast - 190 grams (pics 1-2) and this one stayed on. After walking around I got another bite at a different spot on the lake, but couldn't convert it - the pike was being real cautious. Came back about 30 min later to where that half-kilo pike had hit and made a cast right in the same spot. Immediately the same pike (looked like the same one, around 500g) took it again. It grabbed the line with the 0.2mm fluorocarbon in its mouth, but I got lucky because it was right at the shore so I just yanked it up quick. When I lifted it out it immediately snapped the fluoro and then I weighed it - 450 grams (pics 3-4). By the way, this pike and others don't have full egg bellies anymore, so I'm guessing she's starting to spawn a bit. Haven't seen bites like this before, but the bite is still on and fish are pretty passive, though you can definitely still catch them)) Turned out to be a solid day! Good luck to everyone!!!
