Lakes near Otyniya

Rolled up to the water at 5:30 PM planning to feeder/float fish for carp or amur (or if I'm really dreaming, some bighead carp). At 7 PM sharp the pike started chasing fry and I got up from my comfy chair to try my luck at catching one of these fish. 2-3 casts with a spinner - a bite (thought I'd snagged some weeds so didn't set the hook properly) and a take 2 meters from shore… bummer but promising. So I kept casting around the pond for another 2.5 hours and managed to land 7 pike (+2 missed) and 1 catfish, all on the same spinner and a little light Select spinning rod with a thousand-size reel. The emotions from bigger fish on this rod are unreal (especially that catfish), any decent fish bends the rod and gives you a real rush on the fight. Kept most in the net, released some right away because I was too lazy to carry them back. The owner and keeper ask me to take all the predators but I'm not a savage to keep the small pike + I haven't taken a single fish from this pond in 2 years. This time I did have to keep 2 pike and the catfish though. The pike went to my feeder fishing buddy's dinner and the catfish went to some random guard at ATB😅 but that's another story. One last thing - I was surprised by how active the pike were considering it's been over 50 degrees in the sun for a week straight (mid-30s in the shade) and today was no exception, even by the water it was scorching and the water was warm like freshly poured milk.
