Desna bays

Decided to service my reel in the morning before the season opener. My son asks, what, you heading out fishing? I'm like, well, why not :) Got the reel sorted, packed up and jumped in the car. Grabbed some beer on the way and hit the water at 2 PM. My son's float was quiet, but he was having a blast stirring up the water, which gave me an hour to work a popper. And it was awesome :) Every cast brought a fish. Sure, they were small, some people wouldn't even call them fish, but after winter this is pure joy. Tons of anglers on the bank, but didn't see anyone actually fishing. Anyway, I got my fix and cleared my head. Twenty-eight fish in an hour, about 240 grams. Was gonna feed them to the cats, but decided to experiment with pickling instead.
