Protoka River

Spent all evening thinking about where to go for perch, then remembered we've got this little Protoka River running through our city, maybe 4-7 meters wide. Got out there early morning with my spinning rod, tied on a 1.6 tanta in caramel color on a 1.5g tungsten jig head and got to work. First three casts were blanks, then switched spots and boom—first cast landed me some pale perch 😅 all the others were red, but this one was white. Threw the tanta around for like 40 minutes, landed 9 perch, then decided to switch it up to a 1.8 inch javastick in motor oil. Another 40 minutes on the new lure and I was up to 17 perch. All told, spent about 2 hours and walked away with 26 perch total. Was doing a steady retrieve with one turn of the reel between pauses. Fishing was absolutely incredible 😍😍😍
