Extended database (180 solo reports, average 3.9/5; 79 combo reports, 3.8/5) confirms maggot reliability. New batch of 24 reports (15 solo, 9 combo) yields average 3.8/5 for solo and 3.8/5 for combo, matching the accumulated trend. All new reports are from September, predominantly positive results in wet and overcast conditions. However, 9 combo reports (37% of new batch) include competing hook baits (worm, corn, dough), making clean attribution of success to maggot difficult. No controlled one-on-one comparisons identified.

Best conditions

Rain, drizzle, and overcast skies at 15–22°C; early morning (06:00–11:00) and evening (17:00–21:00). Weak performance in heat (23–29°C), clear skies, and midday hours (11:00–15:00). September showed stability in wet conditions (1–8 mm rain, drizzle) with ratings of 4–5/5 across most solo reports.

Best target fish

Roach, crucian carp, bream, bleak, asp, white-eye, rudd. Perch, common carp, and round goby also bite, but less consistently. Pike and tench showed occasional catches.
