Low confidence
6/10
Moderate effectiveness with low confidence; shows consistent 4/5 ratings in recent reports, but most evidence comes from combo situations where it competes with maggot and other baits.
After analyzing three recent reports, the overall picture remains mixed. The last three reports showed consistent 4/5 ratings (roach in drizzle, mixed catch in partial cloud cover, bream in overcast conditions), but two of them are combo reports with maggot as a competing bait for the same purpose, which again complicates direct attribution of success. Only one of the three recent reports was truly independent in terms of bait role. Overall, 3 standalone reports (average 3.5/5) versus 6 combo reports (average 4.3/5) suggests the bait performs consistently at 4/5 level, but the reasons for success in combo scenarios remain unclear.
Best conditions
Variable conditions from drizzle to cloud cover; temperature 9–23°C; August–September; most reliable in light winds (up to 5 km/h average)
Best target fish
Roach, bream, and crucian carp; less defined for carp
- Feeder fishing with chocolate or vanilla groundbait (Flagman, Real Fish) shows consistent 4/5 performance regardless of weather — try this combination in July–September
- In drizzle and overcast conditions the bait demonstrates stability; most reliable in light winds (4–5 km/h)
- When choosing between air dough and maggot on a single hook, results are mixed — try both in one session (as in report #2) for direct comparison
Very small sample of standalone reports (n=3); 6 of 9 total reports are combo reports, mostly with maggot, which significantly reduces confidence in direct causality; seasonal coverage limited to July–September; unidentified fish species in report #2 complicates interpretation; dozens of additional standalone reports needed for reliable conclusion
