Happy New Year 2026 everyone!🎄🎄🎄 At last the stars aligned for me today, finally got that long-awaited day off. How you spend New Year's Eve sets the tone for the whole year, and for me this was also the opening of ice fishing season. We were catching perch on spoons and pike on live bait with tip-ups. Had plenty of false alarms from the tip-ups, which showed the pike were really active, but the perch situation was a bit tougher – had to search for them quite a while, mostly getting lone bites at each hole. Closer to evening, after drilling another hole we finally got lucky and found a school of small perch. On the way back while collecting the tip-ups, one went off and snapped – lost the treble hook, leader and sinker on a snag. Wishing that in 2026 the war ends with our victory and we finally get Peace. Also wishing everyone to catch the fish of their dreams
