Got myself a boat and decided to break it in with the wife. Couldn't resist bringing the spinning rods along. Spent the whole day out there, caught a few small pike, around 600 grams each. Nothing special really. It was getting dark, we were already thinking about heading home. Then the wife gets a snag… She jerked a few times, nothing happens, it just sits there dead. Like that for about 30 seconds. Then it takes off. A bluebird lure up to 7 grams got twisted into a pretzel. The wife tells me, grab it and pull, I can't handle this. Had to help her out. But it wasn't easy. The pike put on a few jumps, I thought the lure wouldn't hold. 10 minutes of fighting, and I finally managed to wear her down. Weighed in at 2,700 grams. The trophy goes to the wife )))
