🦫 First time on this water today, gotta say it's a pretty interesting spot: tons of snags and debris (thanks beavers), but that's exactly why the predators are here. The downside is the long walk in. 🎣 Fished roughly from 7:30 to 1 PM, at my own risk in these conditions with size 2 spinners, small spoons and cicadas in my arsenal - left plenty of metal in the water and even got blisters from constantly casting lures 🫡 🤙 Didn't get to hold the fish in my hands, but at least I got it on the hook, which is progress compared to my previous spinning outings. 🐟 Got 3 bites total: probably a small perch (didn't see it), a tiny pike and a really nice perch. 😮‍💨 The last one hit so aggressively I thought I'd snagged another log, and I don't even consider my rod that sensitive. Right by the shore unfortunately it did a barrel roll and came off. Jumping about 2 palms long, that's for sure - one mean-looking perch, never seen one like that in person, put up a hell of a fight. Could've been a real trophy, but unfortunately... 😔 My knees were shaking after that, and not just mine - the old man fishing with a float next to me was shaking too 😅 👍 Overall a great spot, definitely coming back there more than once, but with a bigger supply of iron next time 😂
