Could I really call myself a true adventuring angler if I didn't take half a trunk of tackle on a beach vacation?!) Rhetorical question) One of the recent days I was fishing for small coastal fish that were biting on various small baits like shrimp, soft plastics, twisters and such… Also I kept catching octopuses in the bycatch (not very welcome guests, since getting them off the hook is a very… slimy affair 🥶) But at one moment a school of some predatory fish FLEW out of the depths and like piranhas they started scattering, smashing, chasing all that small fish I was trying to catch onto the shore 🤯🤯 After recovering from the shock, I quickly switched my leader to a jig head setup and got into some shore jigging 🎣. After a few failed attempts and when I'd almost given up hope, I finally heard that blessed BITE from one of those flat hooligans - a fish called Greater amberjack. What can I say - sea fish are way stronger than our river fish) Even such a modest-sized predator made me feel resistance even on a 99 Azure X-Game rated for 26g😤But I was infinitely satisfied as an angler, and by the fact that I was lucky enough to capture this moment on camera 🎥🤩.
