Lakes near Otyniya

Showed up at the water at 17:30 to fish feeder/float setup hoping for some carp or amur (or maybe thick-lipped mullet in my wildest dreams) At 19:00 like clockwork the pike started chasing fry and I got up from my comfy chair and decided to try my luck with a spinner. 2-3 casts with a rotating lure - got a bite (thought I snagged weeds so didn't set the hook properly) and a miss 2 meters from shore… sad but promising so after spending 2.5 hours casting around the water managed to catch 7 pike (+2 misses) and 1 catfish, all on 1 lure and a small light Select spinning rod with a "thousand" reel. The emotions from bigger fish on this rod are incredible (especially the catfish), every fish bends the rod and lets you feel the fight. Kept almost everything in my net, let some go right away because I was too lazy to carry them. The owner and guard ask me to take all the predators but I'm not a barbarian to take small pike + over 2 years I haven't taken a single fish from this water. This time I had to keep 2 pike and the catfish. The pike went to my friend's dinner (he's a feeder angler) and I gave the catfish to some random guard at ATB😅 but that's another story. In the end I gotta say I was surprised by how active the predators were considering the temp in the sun has been +50 (in shade +35-38) for a week straight and today was no exception, even by the water it was scorching and the water even though the lake's pretty big was just like warm milk.
