Baraboyske Reservoir

Left at five in the morning, grabbed some bait at the two pillars, and we're on the water. The weather's great, the spot's beautiful (though there probably aren't any ugly fishing spots), but the fish just aren't biting. Something's snatching our worms and maggots without giving us a single bite, the corn's staying silent, and the fish are spooked by all those modern rigs—boilies, pop-ups, pellets, you name it. There were plenty of anglers around, but by two o'clock it was pretty much just us. In the end, my old man and I each landed a crucian carp around 300 grams. My buddy walked the whole reservoir looking for pike but came back empty-handed. Our neighbors didn't even get that. There's this guy on the left in a wetsuit who waded in up to his balls, throwing soft plastics around, caught a small pike and fell in the water twice 😁. The sad part is we've been coming to this reservoir since 2015, and it gets worse every year. They're netting the fish out. Back in the day, you could catch tons of crucian carp, but people took them without limit, and now here we are. Free's nice and all, but like experience shows, it doesn't last. P/S: On the right side, there's still these drunk locals hanging around trying to convince you the reservoir's private, telling stories about how they used to catch tons of fish here (which they probably netted out themselves). Report's done. Don't think we'll be coming back here anytime soon.
