Southern Bug

Headed out fishing at the Southern Bug rapids, and in the first hour of wading I got several powerful strikes, most likely chub, but eventually I landed a nice chub around 350 grams, then got a hit so hard it almost ripped the rod out of my hands, tough fight and a 1.6kg chub in my hands 😍 Then there was another strange bite and fight where I couldn't figure out at first what kind of fish it even was? Instead of jerking, long steady pulls and the fish pressing down to the bottom, and only when I got it closer did I see it was a pitch-black catfish that bent the treble hook on my lure and swam off 🫢
