Southern Bug

Headed out to fish the Southern Bug rapids, and in the first hour of wading I got several solid hits, probably chub, but later I finally landed a nice chub around 350 grams, and then came a strike so hard I almost dropped the rod out of my hands, a tough fight and a 1.6kg chub in my hands 😍 Then there was another weird bite and struggle, at first I couldn't figure out what kind of fish it even was? Instead of sharp jerks, long steady pulls and the fish was pushing hard to the bottom, and when I finally got it closer I saw it was a dark catfish that bent open the treble hook on my lure and got away 🫢
