Went out in the morning with a buddy to the Canal hunting pike. For today's fishing I decided to use silicone lures on jig heads. Tried a bunch of baits (UpStream and Keitech) but didn't get a single bite. I also had Perchik lures in my arsenal, specifically Fish Tail in 3.3 inch size (ultraviolet color). That Perchik bait is what brought me pike bites today, plus I had about 3 missed strikes on smaller pike. During the fishing I noticed a defect on my rod — 2 guides weren't lined up evenly with the rest of them (Azura Kenshin rod, 2-12g test) (photo 4). We continued fishing further down on the Buzhok River where we landed a few zander and perch.
