«A bad result is still a result» Looking back on yesterday's fishing and reporting on it, an Italian word comes to mind - «Fiasko», which means - defeat, failure, flop. Of course it's fishing, and fishing can go either way, but on this day (9.03.2024) everything went wrong right from the start. The day was sunny but cool. At 10:00 I arrived at the water body where I'd opened the season a few days before. And when I got out of the car and walked to the shore – I was shocked… because the water was covered in ice… Without hesitation, I decided to head to another lake, which is deeper and practically doesn't freeze in winter, but that lake was also under an ice film… Two more attempts with drives to other lakes showed that ice was everywhere. Then I headed to the Dnipro embankment, but I had light gear bordering on ultralight up to 13g… Walking to the water… casting the maximum weight of 13g… I couldn't reach the bottom - crazy current… And what joy I felt when I realized that nearby there was a gas station, and in it – a cafe) I spent two hours there, savoring good coffee and thinking about my next move… But when I decided to return to the lake again, it was already around 14:00, and the ice was gone… I had an hour and a half left for fishing, so I decided not to waste time and check my «worked» spots with silicone bait, which always flies into the water first when I need to make something happen. At one of those spots, I managed to convince a passive perch with a very slow and drawn-out retrieve, but that was it… The fish didn't give me another bite, and time flew by quickly and imperceptibly. As you can see, you can prepare carefully for fishing, know everything and even a little more😉, have a big arsenal of different "dishes" for fish… but the weather will do its thing. So, thanks anyway – I met with nature, had a chat, saw some fish, saw some anglers, saw some bullfinches, and even enjoyed some coffee with treats🤪.
